About

I am a medievalist and art historian who is concerned with understanding how images survive and are transmitted historically as symbolic forms of meaning. Over the past ten years I have been an active participant in the art world, managing private collections of art for family offices, curating exhibitions and auctions, and researching both in and out of the academy.

I hold a Masters in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute, London and have read medieval theology at KU Leuven in Belgium. In 2024, I co-founded the literary salon and art space Verdurin, in London. Following that, I managed the Cathy Wills Collection, one of the foremost private collections of contemporary art in the United Kingdom.

I have negotiated long-term and exhibition loans of several major works of art from private collections into institutions such as the Fitzwilliam, Cambridge; the Munch Museum, Olso; and, Tate Britain, London. In collaboration with Christie’s and Phillips I have helped source, market, and curate the sale of hundreds of works of art in support of BFAMI and the Roundhouse Trust. Representing clients globally I have helped them acquire and sell exceptional works of art privately, swiftly, and discreetly through leading auction houses, dealers, or directly with other collectors in off-market transactions.

Currently, I divide my time between London and San Francisco helping people build and run important collections of art. Alongside my advisory work, I am writing a book dealing with the visual culture of death in the Middle Ages understood through the evolution of sepulchral architecture and funerary art at three pivotal moments.
